Kate was hired on Jan 5th 2010, and commenced work as a Button pusher Trainee on Jan 7th. While at work on Jan 11 she was paged to take a telephone call in the supervisors office. Following a brief telephone conversation she left the workplace. The following day when she reported for work, she was called to a meeting with the HR Superintendent. Her supervisor was also present. Kate was asked why she had left work abruptly the previous day. In reply she said that she had to leave work immediately because of a problem at her sisters daughters school. She was then discharged by her employer.

What are your thoughts on her discharge, is the employer justified?

Good afternoon

I hope you can help me.

Last year I took out a mortgage with Raiffeisenbank for a property in Karlin, Praha 9.

Since that time I have failed to get a tenant for the property and therefore I am having to pay the mortgage out of my own savings.

I am now running out of funds and fear that I will default on the mortgage. I do not want to do this and have forewarned the bank of my situation and asked them for some flexibility.

If possible I wanted them to increase the proportion of my loan that was interest to bring the payments down for a period of 12 months or so.

However I am very disappointed to hear from them that they are unwilling to help me in ANY WAY.( please see below their response to my predicament)

In these difficult economic times this bank has acted very harshly.

If I cannot rent the property then I am hardly likely to find a buyer.

Is there a central body within the Czech Republic that I can approach on this matter.???

My solicitor will raise this issue with the Czech Embassy in Dublin

Any advice you can give me will be very much appreciated
